RELATIVELY SPEAKING
Father Time is a tricky taskmaster. With each new day, we mold our moments to his movement, and no matter how hard we try, altering the pace at which he passes is impossible. Sometimes we hope that time will fly. Sometimes we watch it crawl. Sometimes we run out of time. And sometimes we lose track of it altogether. Sometimes we genuinely want to take our time, and sometimes we’d give anything for it to simply stand still.
Yet while we cannot change the passage of time, inevitably the passage of time changes us. And we hope this change is for the better. We pray that each experience, each moment, each encounter brings us closer to who we’ve always wanted to be and closer to the ones we love.
Lately, I find myself much closer to the life of which I’ve always dreamed. I’m moving forward and progressing as I watch my time pass by. But I’m not the only one making my way towards a better self, my family members are growing and progressing and changing for the better to. My parents have recently retired and embark on new adventures all the time. My siblings each have amazing families, the likes of which change too fast for Facebook or even blogs to keep up. And now I have the Sigety side to watch and love as well. The only problem? All my family is just too darn far away!
And with that…”I’m gonna make a decision. I made a decision. Decision made.” Anyone? Baby Mama quote?
It’s time to plan the…
DALTON FAMILY REUNION 2011!!!
So if all of you Daltons could take one for the team and stop growing until then, that would be great. ‘Cause I want to be able to recognize everyone next year and I’d prefer not to miss any milestones you have coming up. So stop changing people! I can hardly keep up! hehe
Whip out those cargo shorts Dad! Make a cheese ball Mom! Stay up all night thinking of funny things to say Kevin! Clean your house cause chances are we’ll invade your home again Wendy! Pick out coordinating outfits for all of us to wear for family pictures Jenny! And everyone get ready to make some memories!!!!
